Patrick Cassidy and Amy Adams Headline Joseph National Tour

Patrick Cassidy will star as the heroic title character of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, while "American Idol"'s Amy Adams will biblically belt as the Narrator in the upcoming national tour of the family-friendly Andrew Lloyd Webber show.

The tour will kick off in Milwaukee, WI on September 6th and come to a close on July 30th, 2006 in Omaha, NE. The show, which features a book and lyrics by Tim Rice to Lloyd Webber's music, recounts the Old Testament story of Joseph's betrayal, imprisonment and eventual rescue of both his disloyal brothers and Egypt itself.  The tale is told through a prism of musical styles--everything from calypso to Elvis-esque rockabilly to Broadway razzmatazz.

Cassidy, who originated the role of John Wilkes Booth in the Playwrights Horizon production of Assassins, has appeared on Broadway in Aida, Annie Get Your Gun, Leader of the Pack, and The Pirates of Penzance.  The son of Jack Cassidy and Shirley Jones, he most recently appeared with his mother in the Broadway revival of 42nd Street; they were Julian Marsh and Dorothy Brock, respectively.

On the third season of "American Idol," Adams sang "The Power of Love," a song made famous by Celine Dion, one of her idols and influences.   With pink tresses and a healthy sense of humor as her trademarks, she became the first "Idol" contestant who had not made it to the final five to be featured on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno.
