With the 2010-2011 school year at its midway point writer/director Donja R. Love's compelling new play, The Nigga Files, takes an introspective look into the education system and inner-city youth. The Nigga Files workshopped before a sold out audience in September and was honored 1st runner up for the coveted "Best Play" award in the inaugural Philly Urban Theatre Festival. On January 11, 2011, and for eight shows ending on the 16th, Love, in conjunction with Kash Goins of GoKash Productions, is premiering the final, revised version of The Nigga Files at The Shubin Theatre on 4th and Bainbridge in Philadelphia.

This controversially titled play examines the state of inner city youth and the heavy life situations that they sometimes create or inherit. It also sheds light on some of the challenges teachers face when encountering some of these same youth in their classrooms. The Nigga Files explosively and boldly tackles these issues head-on while also exploring the stigma, stereotypes, and associated erroneous embracing of the word, "nigga".

The Nigga Files is brought to life by seven dynamic actors who keep you engulfed in the world of their characters. Tobi Gadison plays a high school history teacher who must come to grips with the abrupt death of one of his students. With such an unexpected loss he's determined to prevent his other students, portrayed by Stanford Dixon, Jamarr Hall, Keith Illidge, Lindo Jones, and Aaron Thornton, from succumbing to the same fate, with the help of the deceased boy's mother, played by Salina Faison. While coping with the paralyzing death of their peer, each boy is faced with their own conflicts ranging from substance abuse, teenage parenthood, family disturbances, and sexuality among others.

This riveting piece is being produced by GoKash Productions and being presented by Recycled Love Productions. It aims to throw audience members in the underbelly of reality.
