Enjoy the eclectic sounds of live jazz music, fine wines and local fresh fare amid the spectacular spring splendor of Longwood Gardens when the horticultural showplace hosts the fifth annual Longwood Gardens Wine & Jazz Festival, Saturday, June 4, from 12-5:30 pm.

Spend the day listening to the region's best jazz artists perform live, enjoy the finest wines from 18 Pennsylvania wineries and learn about food and wine pairing during informative talks and demonstrations. Participating wineries include:

Live Jazz Throughout the Day
Throughout the day, listen to an exciting lineup of award-winning jazz artists, including:
Tony Miceli Quartet | 12-1 pm
Tony Miceli is a legendary vibraphone player from Philadelphia who has performed and recorded with numerous artists including Dave Liebman, Ken Peplowski, John Blake, John Swana, Joe Magnarelli, Steve Slagle and others. Miceli is a member of PhilOrch Jazz Ensemble, a quartet featuring members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Adam Unsworth ensemble.

Kenny Barron Trio | 1:30-2:30 pm
One of the most renowned, most lyrical-and busiest-pianists in jazz today, Barron is a multiple-Grammy nominee, was honored with induction into the American Jazz Hall of Fame, and received the MAC Lifetime Achievement Award and the Mid Atlantic Arts Living Legacy Award.

New York Voices | 3-4 pm
Celebrating 20 years, New York Voices is the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble renowned for their excellence in jazz and the art of group singing. The group's interest is rooted in jazz, but often Brazilian, R&B, classical, and pop influences are infused with equal creativity and authenticity.

Ravi Coltrane| 4:30-5:30 pm
Ravi Coltrane and his longtime quartet - pianist Luis Perdomo, bassist Drew Gress, and drummer E.J. Strickland - have established themselves as one of the most consistently thrilling and acclaimed working groups in jazz today. Born in Long Island, New York, the second son music legend John Coltrane, Coltrane started as a clarinetist and eventually switched to the saxophone. He's gone on to perform with a remarkable list of artists including McCoy Tyner, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Jack DeJohnette, Carlos Santana, and many more. Coltrane has recorded five albums as a leader, including Moving Pictures (1998), From The Round Box (2000), Mad 6 (2002), In Flux (2005), and Blending Times (2009).

Learn from the Experts
Area wine expert, Bob Timble, helps guests learn what kind of wine taster they are! His informative educational sessions at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm delve into the art of wine tasting and offer a primer on Pennsylvania wines. Also in the education tent will be demonstrations on cooking with wine at 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.

Fine Food
The expansive food tent offers guests the opportunity to purchase a variety of hot and cold entrees designed to be paired with your favorite wines, including carving stations, pasta dishes, original salads, delectable desserts and more. Many locally grown and produced foods will be featured.
Pre-order a gourmet picnic basket perfect for pairing with wine. The basket includes 3 unique cheeses, crackers, grapes, strawberries, hummus, a composEd Salad, and a small baguette and bottled waters. Pick up your basket as you enter the festival. Ticket Information
Tickets for the Wine & Jazz Festival are $40 each and include Gardens Admission; Tickets for Garden Pass members and groups of 15 or more are $34. A souvenir glass is included for adult wine-tasters. Tickets for Designated Driver guests ages 12 to 20 are $25; $21 for Garden Pass Members; children ages 5-11 are $8 with an adult Wine & ticket holder (Garden Pass members ages 5-11 are free); and children ages 4 and younger are admitted free with an adult Wine & Jazz ticket holder.
