On Friday, May 31st, I had the pleasure of seeing the phenomenal musical WE WILL ROCK YOU at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. This is neither a tribute concert to Queen nor a biography of their lives. Rather, the concept is similar to Mamma Mia! in that the show is a fictional story built around the music of one specific music group, in this case, Queen. Playwright Ben Elton, however, has written a storyline that digs much deeper. Director Andrea Pane, with Assistant Director Carly Jurman, Musical Director Mark Ceppetelli, and Choreographer Olivia Rivera bring out the best in this first-rate cast!

Acclaimed New York City-based electronic musician, producer and activist Moby has shared the official video for current single ‘where is your pride?’ out now a collaboration with the late Benjamin Zephaniah. The video has been approved by Zephaniah’s family and is a celebration of his life’s work. The propulsive, break-beat driven track is spoken word with a powerful message delivered in the dub poet’s characteristically warm burr. Watch the video here!

Redd Kross has shared the rousing new single “Born Innocent,” the second song made available from the highly anticipated 18-track eponymous double-album, due for release June 28, 2024. “Born Innocent” appears in the closing credits of the brilliant documentary Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story, directed by Andrew Reich, who has also directed the video that accompanies the single’s release, which features footage from the must-see documentary. Earlier this year, Seattle, WA-based Painted Shield announced details of their forthcoming LP, Painted Shield 3, due for release July 26, 2024 via Loosegroove Records. Juliana “Jules” Madrid wrote the sophomore single “Just Enough” with Joe P, produced by Ben Ruttner (The Knocks) and she says: ““Just enough” is about that wall you hit in a relationship.
